RENOVATION PROJECT IN HILVERSUM
The project in Hilversum involved renovations a 1930 house.
This project was demanding in terms of the high-quality finishing works. The house owners love the old style and valuable details of old architecture. Most interior elements were renovated carefully, such as window frames, window sills, stained glass, doors, floor mouldings, stair rails, and stairs. On the ground floor, sliding doors were made from old recycled doors, dividing the kitchen from the living room. The entire ground floor was made of wooden parquet with “fishtail” tiles on underfloor heating.
The renovation work also included adapting the attic, which was previously unused and unheated. New stairs were built instead of a ladder, and an additional bathroom was built. We removed the reed ceilings and replaced the electrical installation throughout the house. We insulated the walls and ceilings, made plaster, and partially painted both inside and outside.
We discovered the old roof truss during the insulation in the attic by removing the old ceilings. We obtained an excellent high interior, which we then also insulated acoustically. We replaced the rotten elements of the leaking roof, built in additional new skylights and a roof terrace with new balcony doors. The attic gained the function of a spacious bedroom with a bathroom, toilet and wardrobe.
All bathrooms on the floors and the toilet on the ground floor were made according to an individual project with 3D visualization.
